Where and when are we working?

Update October 2011

We are pleased to inform all of our customers of the successful completion of all our work in Castle Street/Caroline Street, Buckton Vale Road, Huddersfield Road (next to Copley Mill), Illingworth Avenue, Water Street, Cumberland Street, Grove Road, Trinity Street/Dean Street, Rassbottom Street, Stamford Street and Huddersfield Road. The work involved increasing the size of the sewer network in these areas and the construction of large underground storage tanks

We would like to thank all of our customers for their patience, support and understanding while carrying out this essential work - Thank you.

The final phase of our work will take place in Corporation Street and Off Wharf Street.

Corporation Street:

Work on Corporation Street has been postponed and is expected to start on site in November 2011. We will update those affected by this work once this date has been confirmed. The project is expected to take approximately 13 weeks to complete.

The solution will involve the construction of a new powered underground storm water storage tank, upgrading parts of the sewer network and constructing a new outfall pipe to the river.

To ensure our work is carried out efficiently and safely we will need to close Corporation Street to through traffic. A diversion route will be put in place and be clearly signposted. We are working closely with the highways agency to ensure that we cause the minimum disruption possible and will provide information on the road closure and diversion route nearer the time.

Off Wharf Street:

The solution is to construct a new powered underground storm water storage tank, upgrade parts of the existing sewer network and construct a new outfall pipe to the river.

Situated next to the Peak Forest Canal, we appraciate the importance of the area for walking and recreation. We will ensure that our work is carried out with the minimum disruption possible, whilst maintaining acces to the canal at all times.

We will need to divert a part of the footpath that runs alongside the canal, this will be clearly signposted. Further infromation on the diverted route of the footpath will be given a couple of weeks prior to our work starting.

The work is scheduled to start in early 2012 and is expected to last approximately 7 months. We will provide information on a start date as soon as one is confirmed.
